Head Nurse Ambulatory Care

Metroplex Health System in Texas is looking for Registered Nurse.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Registered Nurse with Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Texas. ACLS and/or specialty certification in area of expertise recommended.
  • Experience: Requires two years experience, previous charge experience, evidence of increasing leadership responsibilities.
  • Flexibility: in scheduling of hours. May be required to work overtime, irregular hours, weekends and holidays. Subject to extended hours without relief.
  • Other: Ability to read, write and follow instructions in English. Good oral communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Strong analytical and mathematical abilities. Excellent organization and people skills. Maintains continuing education hours as outlined by the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas. Computer skills with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Internet and current hospital patient care computer programs, preferred.
  • Must meet the hospital’s established health requirements.
Job Descriptions:
  1. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, directing, evaluating and delegating daily nursing activities for their area.
  2. The person in this position is accountable to the Director. Interacts continually with the other Nurse Managers and other leaders.
  3. Requires ability for independent, professional judgment on clinical issues. Requires some input from Director for administrative issues.
  4. Requires responsibility for department supplies, expensive equipment, and adherence to efficient time management and utilization of patient resources.
  5. Manages the policies and procedures as related to the clinical area.
  6. Requires compliance with all safety and infection control policies to prevent injury to patients, employees, or self.
  7. Institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patient’s conditions.
  8. Interfaces with fellow employees, physicians, and patients on a continual basis. Interfaces with external contacts to establish good relationships with community agencies.
  9. Has knowledge of and understands current JCAHO Standards for the clinical aspect of the department.
  10. Has knowledge and understands Quality Measures hospital wide.
  11. Assists in departmental, hospital and community in-services/education.
  12. Actively plans/participates in Performance Improvement for clinical area
  13. Activity participates in assigned meetings.
  14. Upholds professional standards of performance and conduct.
